Nova Archery Club
Our archery classes start with the Explore Archery program. This is a six week course, with 90 minute classes.
Explore Archery is an innovative education program focused on introducing beginners to the lifelong sport of archery with a curriculum designed by USA Archery and taught by our USA Archery Level Two Instructor, Paul Dainauskas.
Our indoor archery program is fun, rewarding and developmentally progressive. These classes are focused on introducing first time archers to the lifelong sport of target archery. Our classes teach students the fundamentals of archery with fun games, not focusing on the archers ability to shoot a perfect score.
Archers can expect to learn range safety, the parts of the bow and arrows, and play fun archery games like Candy Shoot, Nock-Tac-Toe, Range Master and Treasure Shoot. Balloons will explode and candy & prizes will be won as the students move through the different skills such as Stance, Posture/Alignment, Nock, Anchor and Predicting. Each new skill earns an USA Archery Award.
A USA Archery Recreational membership is required for any participant who attends an Explore Archery program within a USA Archery club that lasts longer than 3 days, as required in the Club Terms and Conditions Agreement.
Grow with us as this new program extends into building a competitive team. The next step after the Explore Archery Program is our Junior Olympic Archery Development Program (JOAD) and Adult Achievement Award Program.
Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) is a program of USA Archery for youth ages 8-20 years. Participants in the JOAD program can enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition. Our JOAD program offers recurve archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also fosters increased self-confidence and team-building skills. The JOAD program also provides an achievement award program to reward archers for scoring achievements.
Archery is a sport for all ages.
The Adult Archery Program is a program of USA Archery for adults ages 21 years and older. Participants in the Adult Archery program can enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition. Similar to JOAD, our Adult Archery Program offers recurve archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also offers opportunities for stress release, socialization, and fun. The Adult Archery Program also provides an achievement award program to reward archers for scoring achievements and is a great program option for those seeking a lifetime or family sport.
