Beginner Fencing Classes

No membership needed.

Make Nova Fencing Club your home for fencing. Our Beginner Fencing Classes are for youth, families and adults, who would like to learn Olympic Sport Fencing. Start with our Beginning Fencing Classes and progress to Beginning Fencing Two before enrolling in one of our Developmental Fencing Classes.

Fencing is a competitive sport of strategy, finesse, skill, and endurance. It is a great sport that develops focus, strategic thinking and good sportsmanship. Fencing is a unique sport where body type does not dictate your success. Success is the result of deliberate practice and rigorous technique as taught by our coaches.

What to expect

In our Beginning Fencing classes, you will learn the fundamentals of fencing including footwork, handwork and the rules of the sport in a fun, exciting and supportive atmosphere. We love to teach fencing.

Choose a class based on the fencers age. Youth classes are for ages 7 to 12, and teen and adult class is for fencers 13 and up. All classes meet 2x a week. Equipment is provided as a part of the class fee while in the Beginning Fencing Program.

A USA Fencing Membership is required for participation in any of our fencing classes, and a Nova Fencing Club membership is required to enroll all classes past Beginning Fencing 1.
