American Development Model

American Development Model

Picture
Nova Fencing and Archery Club strongly believes in American Development Model (ADM) created by the United States Olympic Committee.

Both USA Fencing and USA Archery have adopted the ADM to help keep children in sports, to realize their full athletic potential and to develop life long athletes.  The USA Fencing American Development Model is a roadmap to guide the development of fencers and archers; to enhance engagement, enjoyment and athletic potential; and to keep fencers in the sport longer.  The goal is to create a positive experience and to create a program that focuses on the individual athlete at each stage of development. .

ADM Key Principles • Universal access to create opportunities for all athletes • Developmentally appropriate activities that emphasize motor and foundational skill development • Encourage multi-sport/multi-activity • Fun, engaging and challenging atmosphere • Quality coaching at all age levels.  These concepts are utilized to promote sustained physical activity, participation in sport, and Olympic and Paralympic success.
